This WordPress plugin is used to display a list of picture events as stored in the mo-media/pictures directory. This mimics the capability of the old Mount Olive website before moving to WordPress.
As of this writing, you can download the plugin from here:

Installation
- Download mount-olive-pictures.zip from the “download” link on the web page where you’re viewing this or from http://rinaldo.net/mount-olive-pictures.zip (direct download link)
- Decompress the file contents.
- Upload the mount-olive-pictures folder to your WordPress plugins directory (/wp-content/plugins/).
- Activate the Mount Olive Pictures plugin from the WordPress Dashboard.
- You may now use the [mount_olive_pictures] shortcode in a Page.
This plugin relies on a mo-media/pictures directory filled with directories containing date.txt, title.txt files and thumbnails and images directories. The date.txt file should contain the date of the event in yyyymmdd format. The title.txt file is a one line title for the event. The images directory should contain the .jpg files cropped to be 640×480 – these are the large images. The thumbnails directory contains .jpg files with the same names as those in the images directory scaled down to 75×56.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why did you create this?
Our church used a lot of custom PHP that I developed to do things like this and wanted the same functionality as we move to use WordPress. This keeps the photos from events outside of the WordPress Media Library so as to not clutter it up.
What enhancements could be added?
Make the directory configurable. Make it not use a pop-up. Handle different photo sizes better.
